Jun Liu, Ph.D.

Jun Liu obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 2016 and his B.E. in Automation and B.S. in Economics from Shandong University in 2008. He received his postdoctoral training at the Dalio Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging at Cornell University.

Mansen Chen, Ph.D.

Mansen Chen obtained his Ph.D. from Dalian University of Technology in 2021. Prior to joining the AIR Lab, he completed postdoctoral training in mechanics at Dalian University of Technology from 2021 to 2024, and at City University of Hong Kong from 2024 to 2025.

Lepeng Chen, Ph.D.

Lepeng Chen received the Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control in 2024 from the School of Marine Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. His research interests include biomimetic robotics, underwater robotics, intelligent control, and motion planning for marine vehicles.

Sen Wang, Ph.D.

Sen Wang obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2023. Before joining the AIR Lab, he completed postdoctoral training at Hanyang University from 2023 to 2024. His research interests include soft robotics, smart sensors and actuators, and deployable mechanisms.

Yi Tang, Ph.D.

Yi Tang obtained his Ph.D. in Control Science and Engineering and his B.E. in Automation from Hunan University in 2024 and 2019, respectively. His research focuses on computer vision and human-centric embodied AI.

Shuai Zhang, Ph.D.

Shuai Zhang obtained his Ph.D. from City University of Hong Kong in 2025. Prior to joining AIR Lab, he received his BEng and MEng from Shandong University of Technology and Southeast University in 2016 and 2019, respectively. His research interests include flexible sensors and actuators.

Chengxiang Lu

Chengxiang Lu received the B.S. degree in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering and Intelligent Robotics from the Harbin Institute of Technology in 2022, and the M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2024. He is currently working toward the the Ph.D. degree in Data and Systems Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. His main research interests include origami design, biomimetic robotics, and micro/nano robotics.
